Natural Hair Color – Debunking Top Myths Of Hair Coloring

Hair coloring is a form of self-expression which makes you look presentable and creative. However, if you are considering a fresh look with a natural hair color then you would find that there are many myths about hair coloring at home. Hence before you prepare yourself to use the 1 minute hair colour, read this blog to bust the misconceptions about hair coloring.

Myth 1: Coloring the hair will damage it

This depends on the type of hair color you choose. If you choose the right natural hair color then you don’t need to worry about it. But if you choose the hair color with ammonia then the regular use of it will cause hair damage, hair loss, and hair thinning. Otherwise, if you are using bleach before the use of hair dye then it will cause hair damage. This is because bleach involves dissolving the hair’s natural pigments which cause the damage.

Myth 2: Using natural hair color will strip away the volume of the hair

This is a complete myth since the truth is quite the opposite. The natural hair color will not strip away the volume of the hair. The hair dye will generally make the hair look more voluminous, shiny, and thick.

Myth 3: You can shampoo your hair right away after coloring the hair

You should never do this. Yes, though you use 1 minute hair colour you should not shampoo your hair right away. Its always recommended to use shampoo after 72 hours before washing your colored hair. This is because when you color the hair, the cuticles are exposed to absorb the hair color. It will take 72 hours for them to close fully and lock in the color.

Note: Also, avoid swimming or pool for at least two weeks since the presence of chlorine will reduce the effects of hair coloring.

Myth 4: You will not need any special shampoo for your colored hair

It’s a big myth. You should invest in the good quality hair shampoo that is specially designed for colored hair. These shampoos are specially designed for colored hair so that they will prevent the hair from fading away fast. Also, it will restore the silkiness and moisture of the hair which is lost due to hair coloring.

Myth 5: Colored hair looks fake

This was a myth that was strongly believed years ago. People thought that the hair coloring will make the natural hair look fake. But it is not true. The natural 1 minute hair colour makes the hair look natural. Hence, you can get colored hair that looks more natural.

Myth 6: If you are hair coloring at home then try only the basic color

Well, some people advise not to see other shades than the natural colors at home. But in reality, it is advised not to mix two colors – a lighter and a darker color. The mixing of colors is perfectly handled only by experts. Hence, it's advised only not to mix any two lighter and darker shade colors.
